Do you live in Barnes, Mortlake or East Sheen? If so, do you own a ULEZ-compliant car? If so, do you occasionally have an hour or two to spare during the day Monday-Friday? If so, we need you please!
Providing transport for FiSH members to and from our own activities, but also to hospitals, GPs, dentists, podiatrists, opticians and hairdressers has always been a bread-and-butter activity for FiSH volunteers. However, with the NHS on its knees and still in catch-up mode after COVID, the demand on our service is increasing day by day. We are now at the point where we can no longer meet all requests for help.
For those without local friends and family, and whose mobility or health prohibits them travelling by public transport, support from FiSH is a life-saver. Their only other alternative is using taxis, which are expensive at the best of times, and, for many, not realistic during this current cost of living crisis.
Could you spare some time to help your local community? We’d love to hear from you! Sign up to become a volunteer here.
